UK Broadband Market Share Over 40%

In the latest statistics released by the National Statistics office 41% of connections were found to have an always on connection, as opposed to 22.4% 12 months earlier.

The split for UK Internet connections is shown below:

  • 41% use an always on connection, e.g. broadband, leased line etc
  • 32% have free access or a pay per minute dial-up style connection
  • 23% have an unmetered dial-up connection
  • 4% are using some form of mixed access

With a number of ISPs offering sub £15 products, I can’t see any letup in growth in the next 12 months.
