Broadband News: Easynet will launch ADSL2+ services in 2005
Easynet announced last week that they will carry out a trial of ADSL2 and ADSL2+ technologies allowing speeds of up to 24Mbps, with the full launch of services in before the end of 2005.
The service will be based on the existing LLU kit used by Easynet which already has the ADSL2 and ADSL2+ capabilities built in, and can provision around 4.4 million homes, and 700,000 businesses.
I haven’t seen anything yet to say whether Easynet are planning to offer TV over DSL or VoIP services yet. I really can’t see the point of giving a consumer 24Mbps unless you are offering tripleplay as well.
