Music Downloads over 3G: Who is using this service?
Who purchases full-track downloads on 3G?
Vodafone announced last week that they are expanding their catalogue to 500,000 full music tracks following the success of thi initial service where since November 2004, over one million tracks have been downloaded.
I’m a bit sceptical about this service after trying it and I also think the download numbers have been inflated by various promotional offers (in the UK it was 3 free downloads a month between November and March……).
I found the copy protection to be too restrictive as tracks could only be played on my phone. Also, my phone doesn’t have enough memory to hold sufficent tracks, have a decent enough media player or a set of headphones to ever challenge my iPod.
Obviously Vodafone disagree.
