Broadband Deals: Telewest increases blueyonder 256Kb to 512Kb at no cost
I only discovered this change this morning on the Digital Spy Forums. In Mid May Telewest will be increasing the speed of its entry level 256Kb product to 512Kb, with the price remaining at £17.99.
The service will remain uncapped, which matches AOL’s uncapped product, which is the only other offer that provides the same speed for the £17.99.
Telewest don’t seem to be making a big song and dance about this and judging by some of the posts on the Digital Spy forums this may be wise, as some customers are already considering downgrading from their 1Mb service to to the cheaper 512Kb.
Personally, I think it is good to see Telewest set its entry-level product at what I believe is the minimum speed for a true broadband experience, although it will be interesting to see what effect the new tier has on their overall tier mix.
