Got an email yesterday from AIM to participate in a beta trial of a new contact synchronisation tool. AIM Sync scans your Outlook contacts for AIM screen names or mobile numbers that you can add to your Buddy List feature. Then you’ll be able to instantly see whether your contacts are online any time.
Should prove to be a very useful service. Personally, I don’t use AIM much as in the UK MSN Messenger is dominant – MSN told me in a meeting last year that their installed base in the UK is four times that of AOL’s.
