Off-topic: Sith Happens
Great post by Chris that questions the quality of the latest Star Wars Trilogy.
As I was growing up at school I wasn’t a very big fan of Star Wars - maybe because even as a child I thought it was a bit strange for boys to be playing with dolls…
At Uni I got sucked into the Star Wars universe by mates who’s knowledge of the original trilogy was quite scary. They used to test each other to see who was the top Star Wars dog by asking each other questions like “What are the first words spoken after the first commercial break on the TV version of Star Wars?”!! (For those of you that don’t know the answer it is “Luc, Luc - where are you?”).
Personally, I think that Star Wars is one of the greatest pieces of marketing ever. Without all of the hype, I think that if any of the films could be viewed in isolation (impossible to do now) then there wouldn’t be such a fuss about most of the films, and I agree with Chris that despite the hype, ROTS will probably fail to deliver.

I am a BIIIIG Star Wars saga fan. Episodes I (nauseating) and II failed to deliver (although the last 20-30 minutes of II were quite entertaining), but I am really looking forward to III. Call me delusional, but I think Anakin's turn to the dark side of the Force, the elimination of the Jedis and the ascendancy of the Emperor will make for compelling viewing. And come on…do you know how many lighsabre fights will happen in ROTS? Way too cool to poopoo.

If I was a scriptwriter I would agree that Episode III has the potential to be the best Star Wars ever. However, I'm just worried that given the poor showing in Episode I and the luke-warm response to Episode II (I agree great Yoda scene!) that maybe George Lucas has lost his magic.
