It’s amazing how fortunes develop. I remember when I first met Brent Hoberman and Martha Fox. They had just setup Lastminute and were working in rented offices on inflatable furniture!
Anyway, online retailer Lastminute.com today agreed to a £577m ($1.07bn) takeover bid from Sabre Holdings, owner of the Travelocity online travel business.
Co-founders Brent Hoberman and Martha Lane Fox are set to pocket £40m between them for their stakes in the business, Brent will receive about £26m, while Martha will get £13.6m.
I hope that they can afford some proper furniture now!
