3 Million Skype Users Online Concurrently

SkypeJournal reports that Skype now has over 3m concurrent users which increases the chance that someone you want to talk to will be online.

I can personally testify to this as my Skype contact list is growing and is finally becoming useful as more and more of friends log-on or get always on connections.

However, I still don’t use Skype at work. Do you think VoIP services like Skype will ever crack the corporate market or will corporates plump for a more cautious approach?

I love Skype. I use it to speak to workmates/colleagues as a cost saver. I use it less to speak to customers. The reason for that is the quality. It can range from fantastic to a much lower quality than your traditional line…ie, i think it is not reliable enough to use for all of your business needs.

I find PC-2-PC quality to be acceptable but I'm still not sure about SkypeIn - what's acceptable changes when you have to pay for the call.
