One in five people use IM at work in the UK

One in five people in the UK are using instant messaging at work according to security firm Akonix. I find this amazing as I thought in-house security guys would have clamped down on this – they have at my office.
The survey also found that 25% of users just use IM to gossip, but more worryingly, 16% had sent or received sensitive company information via IM.
Thanks to Secure Instant Messaging for the story.
