When other ISPs are trying to maintain access prices by bundling in more value, ntl seem to be fighting a price war without any apparent adversaries. ntl have just reduced the price of its 1Mb product to £9.99, apparently to match UKonline.
However, UKonline’s offer isn’t really a threat to major ISPs as it is only available to the small number of users that UKonline can reach, so why on earth did ntl do this? All they are doing is eroding their own margins before the actual market dictates it.
