Newsgroups Safe From The RIAA?

Institutions like the RIAA never seem to go after newsgroup users, even though these users tend to be the biggest downloaders of content.

For instance, one newsgroup user at my ISP downloaded nearly 1TB in one month.

Maybe the RIAA are ignoring Usenet users because prosecuting them won’t act as a deterrent as the average user will have no idea what Usenet is. Maybe the RIAA is also scared to take on the ISPs directly who are storing the ‘content’ on their servers.
