PubSub Sending More Traffic Than Technorati

I just checked my stats and already PubSub is sending more traffic to my blog than Technorati. My biggest referrers are:
- Trackbacks I’ve added to other blog articles
- PubSub
- Technorati
Other drivers of traffic to my blog are Ask Jeeves, Lycos and Yahoo! I don’t get a lot of unsolicited links from other blogs, (other than Aqute!), which is disappointing as I need these to increase my page rank.
What I find strange though, is that referrals from search engines are so dominated by Google. Does Google treat blogs differently somehow or does Google just get so much more traffic than other search engines?
Also what is disappointing is that I don’t really get a lot of traffic from the other blog aggregators that I ping frequently with pingomatic. I’m beginning to think that pinging pingomatic is a waste of time as blogware ping pingomatic automatically for me anyway, and google and pubsub don’t need pinging as they crawl sites.
I’m still relatively new to blogging (3 months and counting) so please let me know if you have any tips for increasing my traffic.
