In what has to be one of the most predictable developments, Vodafone Germany have announced that from 2007 they will be blocking VoIP calls. It won’t be long before other operators follow I think.
I think the operators are making a big mistake here and trying to ban VoIP is a bad business plan. All that will happen is people will switch to a network that does allow VoIP. I’m sure some smart MVNO will spring up to take advantage of this.
I hope Vodafone UK aren’t as short-sighted.
