Posting With Qumana

I tried being clever using the blogware categories to create tags which was too hard, so I’m taking Tris’s advice and trying out Qumana as it seems to offer the best way to add Technorati tags to my posts. So far it seems to be going well.So far I’ve noticed the following positives:

  • Formatting text is a lot easier and there are some nice features like bullet points
  • The spellchecker lets you add words to the dictionary
  • Adding technorati tags is a doddle

And negatives:

  • Can’t add trackbacks although apparently blogware can do this automatically. I’m not sure about this one so I think I’ll have to go into the blogware admin and add trackbacks manually.
  • I’m not sure if I like the fact that the tags click straight out to Technorati. I think I’d prefer if I could choose whether to display the tags or not as I’d prefer people stayed within my blog. Maybe I shouldn’t be so selfish about my traffic though and help my readers find more on topics that interest them. I guess what goes around comes around and by tagging hopefully I should get reciprocal traffic from technorati
  • I’d like to be able to add my own keywords to help readers find similar posts within my blog

It’ll be interesting to see if I see more referrals from Technorati as a result now.

The auto-trackback setting in the posting settings. Works very smoothly.
