Telewest Broadband Give Free Away Free Internet Security – PCguard

Telewest broadband yesterday launched blueyonder PCguard, a free security service for all users. PCguard includes a firewall, Anti-virus software, Anti-spyware software, a popup blocker and web filtering/parental control features. The service will be available to all 850,000 blueyonder customers. Unlike security offerings from many other ISPs, new customers will not have to activate or configure the applications themselves and the interface is designed to be as user-friendly as possible.

The service will initially be free to all blueyonder broadband complete and blueyonder broadband elite customers. Customers taking the entry-level blueyonder broadband service will get the full package free until the end of the year, before having the option of paying for some elements on a monthly basis.

I think this is a smart move by Telewest as security is the biggest concern of users on the internet, and fixing their problems must be a headache for all ISPs. By installing the software when customers signup Telewest will reduce the number of support calls they have to deal with as well as making their customers happy and giving them a good online service.

  • Smal biz or corporate ones, giving away useful and handy products to promote your service is truly a smart move on their part. It always comes down to giving good value to the customers.
