Sony Ericsson P950 | P1000 – Codename Hermoine

Over the last couple of months Nokia, in my view, has regained its position as the top mobile phone manufacturer, launching great devices like the 6630 and 6680, and with more great phones in the pipeline like the N91.

Sony Ericsson used to be the top dog, so everyone has been waiting with anticipation for the launch of the P1000. Officially, there has been no info from Sony Ericsson on this phone, which has been strange as it must be one of the most anticipated releases.

Ubergizmo managed to get some screenshots of the Sony Ericsson Hermione, which is the codename for the P1000. But what do Sony Ericsson do? Rather than monitoring the online community to see how well the leaked shots and specs went down, they threatened Ubergizmo with legal action. Great piece of PR Sony.

Obviously, I’m not going to post any shots of the offending handset as I don’t want Sony sending me any nasty letters. However, if you do want to see an image of the phone Camera Phone Reviews has one.

I expect that the phone will be 3G capable (UMTS), have a fairly big 262,000 colour LCD screen, an integrated 2 Megapixel camera and will obviously play MP3.
