eDonkey Taken Over From BitTorrent As The Most Popular P2P Network
Everton | Aug 30, 2005 | Comments 2
Last year, BitTorrent traffic accounted for nearly half of all Internet traffic, but in response to Hollywood going after BitTorrent users, many users have switched to eDonkey which is now the number one filesharing network.
eDonkey works via a decentralized server, which provides additional anonymity for file sharers, although P2P users have already proved unlikely to be dissuaded by the threat of prosecution.
I guess one day Hollywood will realise that P2P is here to stay and will hurry up and develop better legal services.

Beware of eDonkey spyware freind “Accoona” that will hijack and criple your system. It took me days to resolve this piece of grief. Thanks eDonkey! Very nice of you to add this to your program download!! If you're stuck with it, try CounterSpy to get rid of it. Accoona leaves your firewall unoperable after you delete it. I had to reinstall.
