Unusual Mobile Phone Tips

I got these two tips from my brother who rarely sends me emails so they got my attention. They may seem a bit wacky but a couple of the guys tried out the first one and it definitely works so I’m assuming that the second does as well! If anyone gets the second tip to work can they let me know please.

1) Hidden Battery power
Imagine your cell battery is very low, and your expecting an important call and you don’t have a charger. Nokia phones come with a reserve battery. To activate, press the keys *3370#. Your phone will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged again when you charge your phone next.

2) Use your phone to open your car

This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are home, call someone at home on your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the other person at your home press the unlock button on your spare keys, holding it near the phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is
no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other “remote” for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the boot).

  • I am using mobile since 5 years but i don't know the concept on hidden battery power so thanks for clearing this.
  • Cool but if you have you spare keys for this car you dont have to do it by phone you could just open the car with the keys thats why the car opens so thatz the backrground of this trick. try it with other keys NOT FOR THIS THIS CAR IT WON"T WORK. it will only if you get a apllication which ive bought for 123pounds so its up to you!!
  • That sounds like a handy idea,  Cant they make like solor powered cell phones to help prolong the battery life,  like a dual powered calculaor..
  • Thanks for the advice but let me try it then only i can believe. If the trick is successful without any harm then it will be very helpful in urgent case.

    Hope it will really work.

  • Did you really try to open the car doors with your phone? Did it work? Sounds like it would be an urban legend but its worth giving it a shot.
  • i tried that but unfortunately my cell phone battery died with the car charger locked inside!! :(
  • The 1st tip is actually to enable Enhanced Full Rate on Nokia phones by keying #3370#. While EFR delivers clearer calls, it decreases battery life by about 5%. Key in *4720# to activate Half Rate Mode. HFR increases battery life by about 30% by decreases call quality.
