Diggdot.us is a new site that combines the top stories from Digg, slashdot and del.icio.us/popular all in one website. It also removes the dupes.At first I thought what a good idea. I visit so many sites, that even with RSS feeds, it is hard to keep track of each one. But then, after visiting the site I realised that it is just a roboblog – blogs that automatically create posts to generate advertising by lifting the headlines from technorati and digg etc. dressed up as a genuine site.
The only value it adds is removing the dupes, but sometimes I like to see the dupes as even though articles can be about the same subject the take can be slightly different.
All I can say is good luck to Diggdot.us’s creater FrozenBear, as the site is getting a lot of coverage so I guess he’s making a fair bit of cash by now out of advertising.
