Songbird - iTunes Beater?
AMCP, one of my new blog discoveries have unearthed a new Media Player designed to rival iTunes called Songbird. Songbird is based on Firefox and has been created by the team behind Winamp 5 and Y! Music Engine.
Although it looks a lot like iTunes (nothing wrong with that) it does offer some notable UI improvements, and the developers are promising some unique features when the service is released mid-December.
I’m a big fan of iTunes, but I would love to see it get some genuine competition. I think this will definitely be one to keep an eye on.
