Customising TagCloud And A Plea For Help!
I’ve had a TagCloud on my blog for a few months now and I’ve finally got around to trying to make it work a bit better. I’m halfway there with the customisation but I need some help with the XML. If there are any XML whizzes out there who can spare 10 minutes - I need help!
My HTML and CSS experience is quite limited, what with this being my first ever website, so luckily I found this guide that showed me how to customise the CSS for the cloud, change the default colours and size etc.
I realised one thing quite quickly, which actually made me feel quite silly. I thought that the size of the words within the cloud were based upon the number of times that they appeared in my RSS feed - not the number of times they appeared relative to each other. So, the main reason my TagCloud was looking so pitiful was because it didn’t contain enough words with a big enough spread. Once I increased the number of words to 50 it started to look like a real TagCloud.
What I want to do now is point the links within the TagCloud to pages within my own blog rather than linking out to TagCloud’s site. To do this apparently I need to edit this XML file. Given that I’m still learning HTML, this is asking far too much of my basic abilities!
Can anyone help? What I’d really like to be able to do is point say the tag ‘Xbox 360′ to this page.
Thanks in advance for any help given.
