Google To Sponsor Man Utd?

Rumours are circulating that Man Utd are in discussions with Google to replace Vodafone as their shirt sponsor.  The price of the deal has been set at £9m pounds and other companies rumoured to be considering the deal include IBM, Yahoo!, Coca-Cola and Levis.

If Man Utd do clinch the deal with Google, I wonder what kind of promotions they will put together.  Maybe free Wi-Fi for the whole of Manchester is in the offing!

I think that Yahoo! would make a good tie-up as well, as they did a fantastic job with the World Cup site.  Whatever happens, I hope a deal is tied up soon.  As a closet Man Utd fan (my main team are Spurs), I would love to see their performances pick up again, and the extra cash will definitely come in handy.
