As everyone knows getting tickets for the World Cup is an absolute nightmare, but at least this time around Fifa are trying to reduce the pain. Tickets go on sale online at 11am today, when about 250,000 tickets will go on sale.
Rather than first come, first served tickets will be on sale until Jan 15th, when tickets will be allocated in a ballot. Sounds like a good idea, but bear in mind that your card will be charged immediately and refunds may take a while if you are unsuccessful in the ballot, before you put your name down for a ticket for every game to increase your chances!
Don’t worry if you forget to apply before January 15. There will be two more sale between February 15 and April 15, and May 1 and July 9 2006.
I think I’m going to try my luck with tickets for England Vs Trinidad & Tobago, England Vs Sweden, Argentina Vs Holland, Brazil Vs Croatia and the match for the winners of Group B assuming it will be England. I’m trying to double up with a few friends to increase my chances of getting some tickets.
What do you think will be the games to watch?
