Trying Out MediaMonkey

I don’t know how this mp3 player slipped under my radar, but I’ve just discovered MediaMonkey which boasts some impressive inbuilt tagging features.

MediaMonkey can fix tags and album art with information from Amazon, Freedb, CD-Text and Allmusic. Tags can also be manually edited.

It also syncs with popular media players like iPods. Apparently it will synchronises with the iPod database, including soundcheck values and the playcount data.

I’m going to give it a whirl this week. If it can maintain my iPod playlists and playcounts then I think I’m going to make the switch from iTunes, which struggles with managing large diverse libraries.
