Test The Readability Of A Website: Connected Internet Suitable For 9 Year Olds!

Juicy Studio’s Readability Test measures the readability of websites just be simply entering a url. It calculates the Gunning Fog Index and the Flesch-Kincaid Grade for the site, which are supposed to tell you how much schooling a person needs before they’ll be able to understand what you’ve written. It also calculates the Flesch Reading Ease which measures how easy it is to read a document. Below are the results for www.connectedinternet.co.uk:
readability2.gifMy Gunning Fox Index is 7.65, which means my site is suitable for anyone with 7.65 years of schooling, or aged 12.6 in the UK. My Flesch-Kincaid Grade is better (or worse, not sure!) at 4.21 - or suitable for anyone aged 9.2 in the UK.

My Flesch Reading Ease is good at 73.4 as 60-70 is a good target apparently.

Give the test a whirl on your site and lets see if anyone is gearing their site at PHD students. (Gunning Fox Index >17).
