I'm Going Back Into The Markets - Any Share Tips?

I spent most of December sorting out my finances and one of my goals this year is to supplement my income from sources other than my main job, particularly as there is a good chance I might be made redundant this year.

The ad revenue on this site is starting to trickle through, but I also want to start investing in stocks and shares again. I haven’t been a big investor since 1998/99 when I was part of a share-trading club at the investment bank I was working at. We made a killing back then including picking Colt Telecom which turned into a ten-bagger.

So, do you have any share tips you can share with me? I’m based in the UK, but I also have a US equities account with E*Trade (I have a soft spot for E*Trade as one of my corporate finance projects was to raise the cash to setup the UK venture). I’d prefer to invest in tech stocks, but any good tips are welcome.
