Starbucks To Sell MP3s As Well As Coffee

In what I think will be a very smart move, Starbucks are looking into selling mp3s.

It recently opened CD burning stations at its coffee houses in five US cities and found that customers linger longer as a result.

'That experience can go anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes as they continue to browse and listen and make their music selections,' said the head of Starbuck's entertainment division, Ken Lombard.

Replicating the experience with iPods and mp3s is the next logical step.  I would definitely use a service like this.  Whenever I stop to have lunch or a coffee I tend to browse my mobile for the latest news, but I would love to be able to sample new tracks during those 5-10 minutes.
