Xbox Live Not Suitable For Kids?

Whenever I go onto Xbox Live I'm constantly amazed by the amount of bad language and cussing that goes on, and also concerned by the amount of racial and sexual abuse.

It makes me wonder sometimes if I had kids would I let them play online.  The media tend to focus quite heavily on chat rooms and IM use, but if they heard the abuse going on in online games I think they would be stunned.

Josh Smith tried to do some analysis and he found that people cussed a
total of 641 times (that he heard) in the 33.9 hours that he was
tracking it.  Seems a bit low to me as during one of my races an American guy and a Scottish guy must have swore more times than that, and they were still continuing their argument after I left.

Do you find online gaming too competitive or too stressful to be fun sometimes?
