Best FREE DVD Copying Program - DVDFab Decrypter

Whilst I was off work ill I spent a lot of time watching DVDs on my new HD Plasma TV and I decided to load all of my collection onto my PC.  Copying some of my DVDs posed a problem until I discovered DVDFab Decrypter, which copies the complete disk including special features, trailers and menus getting around any disc protection.  All you have to do is insert the DVD disc, choose a directory for the copy and press Start.

I now have my whole collection of over 200 DVDs on my PC which I can access all around my flat via my modded Xboxs.  I had to buy another Hard Drive but it was worth it.

How much room does your average DVD take up and when you play them can you fast forward/jump to chapters etc. ie. use a DVD playing from a file on a PC in the same way as if you were watching it on a DVD player ?
    thanks

so you have a folder for each film on a modded XBox (I assume a massive HD is the mod) which is hooked up to your plasma - does the stock XBox software let you pick a film to watch from these folders or do you need some special software on the XBox for that ?
Also can this seup be achieved with a PS2 instead of an XBox ?
    thanks

oh yes :) can you use your modded XBox as an MP3 jukebox aswell - does the mod provide a mp3 player and menu structure to play MP3s through your TV ?

I have 2 modded Xboxs - one for my front room and one for my bedroom. I picked up the second for £60 on eBay and a chip cost another £30.
On both Xbox's I have XBMC installed. This fantastic piece of software provides a media center type experience, allowing me to access movies, music, pictures etc on my PC (My Xboxs are connected to my home network via a router) and much more. It even plays my iTune playlists which is one of the best features.
All of my content is stored on my PC and the Xboxs access it over the network via shared folders. Once I select a movie to play the Xbox buffers the film and starts playing the movie within 10 seconds.
If you don't want to install a chip you can do a soft-mod of a Xbox if you have Splinter Cell or a couple of other games. Google ' Splinter cell soft-mod” and you'll find details.
Yes I have a lot of storage - I'm up to 1.1TB (2×250GB 1×200GB and 1×400GB) now !! Hard drives are so cheap now - I got the 400GB last week for only £110.

Thanks for the info, I'd like to get one of these systems setup. I assume the content can be held solely on the XBox HDD ? Also can you rip DVDs on to the XBox using the XBox or do you have to rip them on your PC then transfer them to the XBox ?
Where are 400GB HDDs available for £110
    thanks again, very interesting subject

thanks, interested to see the screenshots. I ripped a couple of my DVDs to my HD,worked fine but I noticed the volume going up and down noticably on playback, do you see that ?
