ITV Sign Deal With Telewest For HD World Football Coverage
TechDigest reports that Telewest have signed a deal with ITV for HD World Cup Coverage. I think this will mean that Sky will only have half of England’s games available in HD as the Beeb and ITV usually show half of the games each, and Sky only have a deal at the moment in place with the BBC.
Telewest will also be screening HD content through a deal with ITV’s programming subsidiary, Granada International (GI). This includes Agatha Christie’s Poirot specials Death on the Nile and Murder in Mesopotamia. Doesn’t sound that exciting to me, but at least I’ll be able to watch my footy on my Telewest TVdrive.
