Microsoft Vista Beta 2 - Stable So Far, Although A Bit Slow….
I finally got around yesterday to installing the copy of Microsoft Vista Beta 2 that was given to me. I didn’t have any issues installing the new operating system, although I haven’t had time to check whether all of my devices and software work yet.
It does however seem to be a lot stabler than I was expecting. I’ve only had crashes when I’ve tried to use my own software e.g iTunes doesn’t seem to work, and neither does VoipVoice but overall it does seems to be ok, although a bit slow.
The speed is the thing that is concerning me, as my machine is no slouch (4200+ @ 2.64Ghz (11×240), Sapphire X1900XTX, 2GB memory, Soundblaster X-Fi, Theatrix TV card, SwiftTech H20-120 Premium Watercooling ). So, if my machine is slow what is the experience of the average user going to be?

This slowness is not too surprising. A beta version of windows software
is packed full of debug flags and un-optimised.
