UK Reconsiders iTrip Ban

I’d totally forgotten that using a iTrip, and also I think a Kensington Digital FM Transmitter, is illegal in the UK because it violates the 1949 Wireless Telegraphy Act. Basically, the use of radio equipment is illegal unless you have a licence. I remember panicking when my first iTrip got stopped by customs, although luckily all I had to do was pay the duty. However, some of my friends weren’t so lucky and they had their units confiscated.
According to Gizmodo, this ban is about to be lifted. I really hope that the Government does do something about this law. I understand that they do need to do something about pirate radio stations who aren’t picky about what frequency they broadcast on (I remember one station called Heatwave in my hometown Nottingham, who were public enemy number 1 for a while when they were disrupting air traffic control), but definitely not individuals with devices with ranges of about 15 feet.
