QuickTime 7.1 – Does Anyone Use QuickTime Out Of Choice?
Everton | Jun 01, 2006 | Comments 1
I just got a notification on my screen saying that QuickTime 7.1 was available for download. This took me back as I’d totally forgotten that I even had QuickTime installed. I NEVER use QuickTime, unless I am forced to when watching a movie trailer or something similar from a website.
Is there still a market for alternative music players or have Windows Media Player and iTunes sewn up the market? A few years ago Real seemed to be in a position to challenge Microsoft, but they appear to be floundering now.
I really think that the other players have missed their chance, particularly as WMP can support just about all file formats now with the right plugins.

i still use quicktime for viewing .3gp files made from my mobile phone and it seems that some site downloadable videos only plays with quicktime.
