6. Van Basten (HOL) against the USSR

Another one of my favourite players. Pity his career ended so early. I’m hoping Holland sort out their internal problems for once and have a good tournament.

5. Eder (BRA) Vs Russia 1982

1982 was my favourite World Cup as it was my first introduction to international football and I feel in love with the Brazilian team of Falco, Eder, Socrates and Zico. This goal was typical - watch the stepover by Falco, then Eder flicking up the ball and hitting it on the half-volley.
