My Ten Favourite World Cup Goals

2. Michael Owen (ENG) Vs Brazil in 2002

Probably not in many other top 10s, but it’s in mine because it’s my favourite England goal. Not particularly amazing, but for 60 mins I really thought we would beat Brazil…

1. Diego Maradona (ARG) Vs England in 1986

We won’t even talk about the first goal, but the second goal was pure class. I love the way Peter Reid is jogging when Maradona first gets the ball, and then speeds up as he starts to panic. Will be top of many people’s lists.

Hopefully this year’s tournament will provide some corkers worth adding to this collection. If you’re in a timezone when games are on when you should be working, then check out this guide on gHacks to watching the games online
