BT Vision Launches On 4th December

settopbox2.jpgThe word on the street is that BT’s IPTV service, BT Vision is going to launch on 4th December. The BT Vision service will combine on-demand TV with over 30 Freeview channels. The service will have no subscription charges and users will only pay for any PPV content they select. The setup box will have typical PVR functionality i.e. pause and re-wind live TV as well as 80 hours of storage.

It’ll be interesting how the mix of free-to-air content from Freeview and the PPV elements goes down with users Vs the traditional ntl:Telewest and Sky subscription model. It’ll be also be interesting to see if BT will be able to offer a credible ‘triple-play’ offering.

All I can say that as a recent convert to Freeview from cable, is that I would be interested in this offering given that there are no ongoing subscription costs.
