It’s getting harder and harder for broadcasters to stop their content appearing online. Not only do they have to contend with P2P and Usenet, they now have to deal with the exponential growth of online video sites.
Take the latest service, TVlinks discovered by Martin from gHacks. TVlinks is a directory that amalgamates the most popular tv shows, cartoon & anime series. Once you’ve found a show you want to watch, all you have to do is just click on the link and it will take you through to the website hosting the movie.
The shows listed below give you an idea of the breadth of shows available:
- 24 all five seasons
- friends 6 seasons
- one tree hill four seasons
- desperate housewives
- seinfeld
- stargate
- the office
i.e. a lot of the major shows. The amount of content that is appearing online is making it harder for shows to be syndicated internationally, as many users can’t be bothered to wait sometimes up to 12 month to see the latest episodes of Prison Break, Heroes, Lost etc. In the UK Sky have stated that they are trying to delay the time it takes for the latest episodes to appear in the UK, and I really think this is because of the growing trend for users to download TV shows.

all these sites that says free t.v. streaming is full of shit and grade AAA bullshit. free means free, no money charged, what part of free dont these people understand?! you dont advertise something for free then say “oh, but theres a one time fee or there is a membership fee” thats false advertisement!!!!!!if your going to say something is free and then charge money for it, choose your words in advertising carefully! heres a good example- unlimited viewing of t.v. shows, movies, cartoons all for a ONE TIME FEE OF $29.95 or this would work- stream television with all the cartoons, movies and shows to your hearts content, membership fee required, noticed how i did not use the term “FREE” in any of those ads, but then again if we are going to pay a fee of some sort
might as well pay for cable television every month rather then paying an internet bill and a membership fee. you people who call stuff free then charge money for the product or service should be ashamed of yourselves. you want to be free then go to iraq, you will pay for it with the service to your country or with your life, does that sound like an awesome deal. after all, your freedom is not free, there is a price, does not that just suck, because saying free television streaming for a fee just plain sucks and is not free.
