Gutted! My Google Page Rank Has Fallen - Traffic Down 15%
I’m on a bit of a downer this week as my Page Rank has dropped from 5 to 4. I first noticed the change at the weekend, but I ignored it as my Page Rank has been known to change temporarily, but it hasn’t reverted back to 5.
I’m gutted for two reasons. Firstly, because 15% of my traffic has been wiped out overnight, which admittedly I can recover from. But the main reason I’m upset is that I’ve worked really hard over the last 3 months to get the traffic back up on this site by posting frequently again, and it was working. To be honest, I was paying close attention to my Page Rank as I was hoping my efforts over the last couple of months would be rewarded with a Page Rank increase.ÂÂ
Check out my Alexa chart below to see how well I was doing at lifting my traffic:

I really can’t understand how based on this growth, and the fact that I’ve been generating more incoming links and usage than ever, why Google have reduced my Page Rank. The really annoying thing is that there is no way for me to find out why I’ve been penalised or anyone at Google that I can contact.
I guess I’ll just have to keep plugging away and hope that the next time Google reviews my site, I get bumped back up to at least a 5.

Must have been a glitch, I querried some datacenters and all show PR5 for your website. See for yourself: http://livepr.raketforskning.com/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.connectedinternet.co.uk%2F

oh, and Pagerank has nothing to do with Traffic levels

I think you’re right about it being a glitch as I’m seeing 5 now as well. Nice PR tool though!
Pagerank does affect travel levels as it affects positioning within google search results
