Spokeo - New Social Network Aggregator

Harrison Tang has just emailed me about Spokeo, a new Web 2.0 project he’s put together with some of his roommates from Stanford. Spokeo is a social network aggregator that combines MySpace, LiveJournal, Flickr, Youtube, and 20 other social networks together:

It allows members to track friends’ blogs, photos, and videos in a constantly updated “news stream”. In addition to combining social networks, Spokeo supports RSS/Atom feeds. This means that people can also access Spokeo to keep up with news, web comics, stock updates, and other syndicated content.

I’ve no idea where the name comes from, but Spokeo showcases the latest open-sourced technologies like Ruby-on-Rails, Gentoo, and AJAX. It lets users organise their friends’ blogs, photos and videos from different websites and social networks. The site is clearly in development so be nice with your comments, but I can see what they are trying to achieve and I think it is a nice concept to help people simplify their online interactions.
