Make Web Pages Load Faster

I’ve started using Internet Explorer again as the majority of my readers use IE, so I need to make sure my pages look ok. I found an old page I’d bookmarked which gives clear instructions via video on how to make web pages load faster in both Internet Explorer and Firefox.

If you want to implement the Firefox and Internet Explorer tips quickly without watching the video, then do the following:

Firefox users:

  1. Open firefox
  2. type ‘about:config’ in the address bar
  3. Type ‘network’ in the filter bar
  4. Double click ‘network.http.pipelining’ and set it to ‘TRUE’
  5. Double click ‘pipelining.maxrequests’ and change to a higher value like ‘10′
  6. Close Firefox and your pages should now load faster

Internet Explorer users:

  1. Go to ‘Start/Run’ and type ‘regedit’
  2. Select ‘HKEY_CURRENT_USER’
  3. Expand ‘Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Internet Settings’
  4. ‘MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server’ and ‘MaxConnectionsPerServer’ indicate the maximum no. of connections per page. Increase the values (DECIMAL) to a higher value, say ‘10′
  5. Close IE and your pages should now load faster

    I thought it was a trick to make website load faster instead of tweaking browser’s settings. Maybe you should eliminate the word “Your” on your entry title.

    Websites load exceedingly fast especially when you disable images.

    Just don’t do this when you visit porn sites- or you’ll miss all the fun.

    If this setting is gonna make your page loading faster, then why was it not set that way? Is some other function compromised in anyway?
