Site Back Up And Running

Wow, that was really painful. The site now appears to be back up and running. I think the problems were caused by a catologue of errors by both me and my host, PowerVPS, which resulted in 3-4 minor outages on Tuesday and a 36 hour outage until now. What I’m really disappointed with, was that my site traffic was running really high on Tues, so I’ve lost a lot of potential new readers.

In the end I gave up on my wordpress installation, backed up my files and database, wiped everything clean, installed a fresh copy of wordpress and then restored files I think I still needed one by one.

Everything seems to be ok and I don’t appear to have lost any posts or comments, but please let me know if you spot anything odd.

I know that this situation really sucks. I experienced a similar one when I had to change from webhost to dedicated server. It is really stressful, hope everything is sorted out now.
