Is It Right For Jason Calacanis To Keep Blogging About Weblogs? Yes!!!
Update: All Weblogs stats are in the public domain - see Jason’s comments below (Sorry Jason)
I’ve never been a big reader of Jason Calacanis’ blog before, but I’ve been paying more attention to it since he left AOL. What I’ve noticed that I find surprising is that he still frequently blogs about Weblogs (and Netscape) as though he still works there, as well as posting stuff about Weblogs and Netscape that isn’t in the public domain.
This would generally be ok if he still worked there, but should he be now that he isn’t an employee anymore?
Here’s a sample of some of his recent posts:
Normally when an individual leaves a company they have to give back all company materials, including logons and passwords. I know if I logged onto my old companies servers to access statistics or passed on confidential information and they found out, I’d be in a lot of trouble!
Techcrunch learnt the dangers of this directly when they fired Sam Sethi the editor of Techcrunch UK, who managed to log on and leave a parting shot for Michael Arrington. I don’t think AOL need to worry about Jason doing the same as I’m certain they’ve placed quite stringent legal restrictions on what he can say, but do they need to reign him in a bit more?

note: all the weblogsinc stats are public. I have not access to any of the old servers, etc.
would appreciate it if you would correct above.
