My point is, that before quitting your day-job to start blogging full-time you need to have atleast 6-months of your existing salary set aside as liquid cash to support you just in case if you hit a bad patch. I’d say this is important even if you make as much as your day-job. Better safe, than sorry.

The answer to your question would be different for different people with different realities. But to answer your question, I’d say that if I make 75% of the money with blogging, I’d quit my job. I’ve just started blogging this week and hence that’d be an achievement.
