I’ve Given Up On Chitika For Good
Everton | Jan 19, 2007 | Comments 3
I recently added Chitika to my blog to see if their new units would generate any clicks and usage. I wanted to see if the new shoplinc store and associated alinks, and RPU units would work on my site, where the eMinimalls hadn’t in the past.
I can definitely say without a doubt that the trial has been a complete failure, despite my attempts to help Chitika by writing more product related posts. At best I’ve been making around 4 dollars a day, but on average about $2.
For such a low amount the ads aren’t worth it, particularly as they are one of the bits on my site that are slowing pages down. What really closed the deal for me was that despite a decent number of clicks through to the store, the traffic wasn’t converting into paid clicks.
Have you had any joy with Chitika? So far no-one in the forum has.

Same with me, I’m planning to dump Chitika and move to something else.
$4 per day ?? ???
Can you share traffic (pageviews) numbers for comparison purposes. What was the eCPM??
Also how much did you make (for the same traffic) from alinks?? Did alinks result in higher $$$ for you for the same traffic….??
On a normal day I get around 7-8k page views. The alinks/shoplinc accounted for about 50% of my earnings
