Watching TV online is getting easier and easier with the launch of cool services like TVlinks, PPlive and Tape It Off The Internet. If you’re looking for even more free TV sites then this List of Free TV Sites From OneTipADay.com is the largest I’ve come across.
Ryan Ashley from CyberNotes has featured another great free online TV service called Peekvid,a website with over 20,000 movies, TV shows, cartoons, and the like. It looks like it aggregates videos from YouTube and DailyMotion, and just makes it a more organized index of the popular, most wanted selections. There are definitely some legal issues here, like copyright infringement, but we’ll get to that later.
If you do want to try out Peekvid, then Ryan has even very kindly put together a selection of the free videos and TV shows that are available on Peekvid:
- Borat (6 videos): http://movies.peekvid.com/s4059/
- Deja Vu (12 videos): http://movies.peekvid.com/s4074/
- Children of Men (3 videos): http://movies.peekvid.com/s4065/
- The Pursuit of Happyness (6 videos):http://movies.peekvid.com/s4141/
- Night at the Museum (4 videos): http://movies.peekvid.com/s4196/
- Stomp the Yard (4 videos): http://movies.peekvid.com/s4313/
- We Are Marshall (2 videos): http://movies.peekvid.com/s4024/
I’m not condoning copyright piracy, but I really can’t blame the millions of users who are downloading illegal content everyday. It’s no longer just about getting stuff for free, it’s about convienience. Why wait months for the content you want to become available, only to find that you can’t play it on your chosen device?
If the media companies got their act together and were as innovative and forward thinking as people like TIOTI, TVlinks and now Peekvid the piracy problem wouldn’t be as bad. Maybe in the future you’ll be able to download Youtube videos.
