Vista Ultimate Installed In 25 Minutes!

Even though I’ve had my copy of Vista Ultimate for a few days I’ve only just installed it, as my new A8r32-MVP motherboard only arrived yesterday. So far the installation has been a breeze and Vista itself only took 25 minutes to install, which is impressive given how many bits and bobs my PC has connected to it.
The installation only took up 14GB, so I’m a bit surprised Microsoft are recommending a 40GB partition (I made mine 50GB)
I was wondering if the software would do any updates after installation and it had to do NINE – I find it amazing that it’s only a few hours old and it’s already downloading updates!
I’m going to see how it gets on with my hardware and software and then I’m going to do a bit of overclocking to see how my new rig stacks up.
Updates I had to install:
- Update for x64 based Systems (KB929427)
- Silicon Image SATALink Controller
- Update for Windows Mail Junk Email Filter (KB905866)
- Updates for x64 systems (KB931573)
- ACPI Utility
- Updates for x64 systems (KB928089)
- Updates for x64 systems (KB930857)
- ATI X1900 Series Driver
