I think Vista's virus-fighting capabilities is UAC (User Account Control), which automatically senses potentially dangerous situations and temporarily suspends running programs and processes. So I don't need anti-virus for Window Vista.

I was reading a recent issue of PC Pro the other day and they did a labtest comparison of all the major names in anti-virus and their pick of the bunch ended up being Kaspersky.

I may give it a try sometime having just upgraded to Vista, I've still got NOD32, but it didn't get a great write up, hmmmm.

I've tried AVG (missed quite a few viruses), F-Secure (slows down my PC), Kapersky (missed some spyware) and Norton 360.

I liked the latter. It got virtually everything I threw at it AND didn't slow down my dual core like the older Symantec Antivirus 2006 did.

I have a new Windows Vista Home Premium Raid System from Dell.
I use Protector Plus 2007 Windows Vista anti-virus from Proland Software http://www.prolandsoftware.com
It works excellent with full email scanning, realtime scanning, and a feature I really like called "InstaUpdate", which automatically does a daily update or you can just hit the "InstaUpdate" to get the latest virus protection. Alert emails can be sent to your email. I have my InstaUpdate set to search and download updates daily.
Price is $29.95 for first year sign-up, then $11.95 annual renewal thereafter.
No problems at all on windows vista.

I've not used it on Vista yet, but I've sworn by NOD32 for the past 3 years or so, it has a very low resource footprint and seems to work very well generally usually having more than one update per day. I've recommended it to many people and they've all been pretty satisfied customers!

I tried F-Secure before NOD32, but found that it I had bit of an issue with network connectivity because of the built in firewall, in the end I gave up on it, but I presume its improved since then though.
