Windows Vista - Upgrading Not For The Faint-Hearted
If you were brave enough to install Vista yesterday, how did it go? My experience has been a bit of a mixed bag. Although Vista itself is running fine and was installed installed within 25 minutes, getting my software and hardware to work has been a real pain.
The really annoying piece of kit I can’t get to work is my Hauppauge Win-TV Nova T-500 TV card. iTunes has also been acting a bit strange with Vista, and some of my tracks seem to have disappeared from my library.
My mouse also doesn’t work properly with Vista. I really need to get my mouse working as I love it as it has volume, play/pause and FF/Rew buttons on i, which are essential for listening to music or watching TV, and it’s also moulded well for left-handers. In fact, I love it so much I bought 3 of them so that I would have spares just in case it isn’t available for sale in the future!
Here are the items I haven’t been able to get to work with Windows Vista so far:
Software (haven’t installed most of my apps as I wanted to focus on hardware and tuning):
- iTunes - buggy
- Speedfan - support coming soon. Need this ASAP as my machine sounds like a tornado with all the fans running at 100%
- 3DMark06
-  ATITool
- KazaaLite Codecs
Hardware Not Working With Windows Vista
- Logitech Pro 4000 Quickcam (Logitech not even working on driver)
- Logitech MediaPlay Mouse (Vista support coming)
- Hauppage Win-TV Nova T-500 TV Card

Buying the same mouse three times for this purpose is kinda nerdy, don’t you think

Finding a mouse that is comfortable for lefties isn’t easy as they are all moulded for right-handers - I wasn’t taking any chances!
You’re using Vista as well - Are you finding IE7 in Vista very low? I haven’t played with the security settings yet

IE7 is causing me nightmares Everton. Mastercard, Paypal, Google Adsense and virtually most SSL type sites are rejected with “certificate error” failures.
What the??? Does mastercard need a new certificate?
Crikey. Thumbs down to IE7
