Giganews Retention Hits A Ton

I just received the following email from Giganews:
Dear Giganews Subscribers,
Giganews is happy to announce our latest retention upgrade: 100 days in all binary newsgroups!
The storage upgrade has already been implemented on our servers and our retention will grow day by day over the next two weeks until we reach the century mark.
As with any storage upgrade, our ultimate retention will depend on the size of the Usenet feed over the next two weeks, but all indications point to 100 days of retention in all binary newsgroups.
I think this is amazing and I would love to know how much storage Giganews now has. It’s got to be a huge number when you consider how the average size of files being uploaded/downloaded has increased over the last couple of years. Anyone want to hazard a guess?
If you haven’t tried out Usenet yet, then you should really give it go. It’s so easy to use now, especially with great clients like Newsleecher. The latest version of Newsleecher will even repair and extract files automatically.
