Vista Ready Boost Didn’t Work On My Machine

The USB memory stick I ordered from Amazon finally came today. Luckily I was at home as I’m snowed in at the moment. ReadyBoost is unique to Vista and is supposed to speed up loading times.
Well I’ve just put it to the test and it’s definitely not working for me. Here are my times:
- Boot time without ReadyBoost: 76s. With ReadyBoost: average 115s
- Shudown time without ReadyBoost: 40s. With ReadyBoost: average: 50s
I want to give it another run in a few weeks time as my PC is a bit sluggish booting up as it’s failing to install the drivers for my Dell Axim, which could be affecting ReadyBoost’s performance.
How have you got on with Vista’s ReadyBoost? If you haven’t got a compatible memory stick then check out this ReadyBoost Compatibility list before you buy, or you might be sorry. I went for the Patriot Xporter XT Extreme Performance 4GB Flash Drive
